Hannah's backyard

Today we took Hannah out for a walk around the backyard for the first time. It's a nice sunny day - but still a bit too cool to spend much time outside.

No more Glow-Worm

Hannah's doing really well today. Her bloodwork came back normal and she's been so alert. We'll see if that means a good night for us.

Our Little Glow-Worm

This week has been full of adventure! Sharon started to feel better yesterday, and it was her first day out of bed - at least for a little while. We took Hannah for some lab work, and her bilirubin levels were just a bit higher than the pediatrician wanted them. So, we had a Wallaby delivered yesterday. It's just a $4000 machine attached to a florescent light belt that helps get rid of the jaundice. She's already looking better, but we go in today at 4:00 to check the levels again. We've got our fingers crossed, as it's difficult to take care of a tethered baby!
She's getting such a personality. Her eyes are beautiful and Sharon and I could just stare at her for the rest of our lives!

Our Family

Finally we are home from the hospital. From Tuesday at one in the afternoon, when we thought we were going for a routine exam, through today at noon we were on quite a roller coaster. I cannot say enough what a wonderful and strong woman my wife is. Sharon handled every twist and turn so well, with strength and faith that she'd get through and bring our beautiful daughter into this world.
Beginning with a long and drawn-out wait into Wednesday morning, labor quickly escalated to a flat-out emergency. We're still sorting out our feelings as to how and why did things happen like they did. For more than a few minutes I really thought I'd be bringing this baby home by myself. It was scary.
And then when we saw her for the first time I was overcome with more joy than I ever thought possible. My whole world was new and everything I'll ever do for the rest of my life will be for this new family of mine.
Sharon's still recovering, but thankfully now in the comfort of our own bedroom.
Thanks so much for everyone who's been helping us out and praying for us.

Just home quickly to grab a few essentials for the hospital. After going for what we thought was a routine appointment on Tuesday afternoon, the last two days have been the most amazing days of both of our lives.
We are both sleep-deprived, but so full of love and amazement for the most beautiful baby in the world.
You're sure to hear more about our whole experience soon.

Painted a Dresser...

Today I painted this dresser for the baby's room. We also practiced putting the carseat in the car. It's in there and our bags are packed, we're ready to go...

We had dinner at Mom and Dad's with Tom and Gina tonight. It was great to see everyone. Probably our last time seeing Tom and Gina before we're parents!

Once the baby comes, I am going to try to put at least one photo on the blog each day! Of course, as soon as the baby is here - you can see the first pictures of her on the blog.
